Greetings from MOC! We are preparing for fundraising events and some major outreach for the coming months. We are excited for the new year and have a lot in store. MOC members have come up with some great innovative ideas and we can’t wait to share them with you. What Is New This Month? Our last communication with Mayor McCarthy was at the end of December and he informed us that MOC will have an option on site for the property at 700 Craig Street. This means that we have to submit a proposal for the property and meet the criteria put forth by the city in order to purchase the property. The city anticipates having site control of the property by April the latest. We have begun putting in our proposal for the community center to different architectural firms in the capital region. So, we are hoping to get some good bites back and decide who we will be officially working with to help us design and build/rehab our community center!!! We are really excited about this! Lastly, we have our office and multicultural library up and running and it is open to the public. Community members are more than welcomed to come and visit our office to get information about MOC, pick up one of our pamphlets or read a book. Our office is located at Mt. Olivet Church on 1055 Wendell Ave. in Schenectady NY. Our next monthly planning meeting is February 1st Wednesday, at 6:30pm at Mt. Olivet. Meetings are open to community residents and grassroots groups. Non community residents and non-profit organizations and/or institutions looking to support our work are asked to make an appointment with MOC volunteers outside of our monthly meetings. Office Hours
